Commercial trainees visit South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences in Soest
Industrial clerks of our IO2 class were out on a field trip to South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences, campus Soest on 3 May.
In the morning the visitors were welcomed by Ms Taylor, the Course Director of the course “Business Administration with Informatics”. In her class “English communication in global business” our students joined the university students in their group activities. Group work is familiar to our students and so everybody could easily communicate in English.
For lunch, we went to the canteen on campus and students had a nice chat. Later, our group did a campus tour and were impressed by the buildings including the lecture halls, laboratories and the library. All students, professors and employees of the university were very nice, helpful and open-minded.
Our students learned that taking university courses in English will not be that much of a problem after all. So, they got encouraged to use the English language and probably to enrol at a university with courses in English.
Thanks a lot to everybody from the university in Soest who made this great learning experience possible!
